BANUELOS PREDATOR
Sch3 FH IPO 3
I've seen so many dogs in my time that to really pinpoint one dog better than the next is really difficult. I have to say that working with Predator was one of my joys in my life and will never forget this dogs passion to WORK. Work he did unlike no other dog. Very rarely does someone like myself who wanted to train dogs so bad come across a dog like Predator and learn from him. Here is my story of one of the greatest if not thee...
This is the greatest working American Bulldog that ever lived period, least in my opinion. Predator was the first ever American Bulldog to be titled in the sport of Schutzhund! He was also the first of his breed to receive a Hip rating certification with the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) with a rating of GOOD! I first met Pred as we called him one day, picking up my American Bulldog Casper (pics and story coming soon) from Kyle Symmes in Temecula Ca. who happened to be the breeder of Predator as well as of my dog Casper. AL was there with Pred who was only 10 months old at the time. After talking with AL I knew that i wanted to train my dog just like he was doing in the sport of Schutzhund. He invited me to come to his house and to start to get down with him....
AL lived in Culver City and as it would turn out he really needed help in getting Pred ready for what will end up becoming a historic moment in the American Bulldog world. In order to compete in Sch. you must first obtain a BH degree (companion dog title) so in terms of titles at the time Pred was very novice but had all the intangibles to be the history maker he later became. Al really put me to work when it came to training dogs, he put me in the fire and had real dogs come at me and Pred was no exception. This dog brought it all the time! I was there to help decoy Pred from his Sch I to his final days as a Sch III FH, IPO III title. Al and I worked our butt's off with nothing more than passion to put ourselves in a position that no one in American Bulldog history ever done til that point.
Many years have passed and i've long lost contact with Al over the years, i do cherish the fun times we had in simply training dogs, (even through the 1992 riots hahahaha) I wasn't there to see Pred pass on. I truly miss that dog and feel he's one of the reasons for me being here in dogs today. Here's a toast to you, BANUELOS PREDATOR for being one of the best if not the best and helping shape my career. You will be sorely missed.....
